SmallRig Cage for Sony FX2 5587 is expertly designed to provide comprehensive protection and rich mounting options for the Sony FX3. Featuring precision cutouts, this cage ensures that the camera’s tiltable EVF, buttons, and ports remain fully accessible.

The detachable top plate features a NATO rail, accommodating Sony’s XLR top handle or SmallRig’s rotating top handle (ID 4152) without interfering with the EVF. The cage incorporates multiple mounting points, including 1/4"-20 threaded holes, 3/8"-16 ARRI locating holes, and a “HawkLock” NATO rail for quick attachment of accessories like side handles (ID 4485) and top handles (ID 4483). A cold shoe mount allows for attaching devices like the DJI Mic 2 or LED lights, while a QD socket at the base accommodates shoulder straps for enhanced portability. The base is also equipped with a magnetic Allen wrench, facilitating quick assembly and disassembly.

The bottom quick release plate, paired with the “HawkLock” H38 Arca-Swiss quick release mount plate (ID 4486), allows for rapid slide-in attachment with an auto-locking mechanism. The Arca-Swiss quick release plate also enables seamless transitions between handheld, tripod, and gimbal setups (compatible with DJI RS 2 / RSC 2 / RS 3 / RS 3 Pro / RS 4 / RS 4 Pro stabilizers). Additionally, an included HDMI cable clamp secures the cable for stable data transmission.

Note: Please open the HDMI port cover before installing the HDMI cable clamp.

Key Features

Unlimited Expansion: Accommodates handles, mics, monitor mounts, and other accessories. Built-in “HawkLock” NATO rail allows for quick attachment of “HawkLock” accessories such as side handles (ID 4485), top handles (ID 4483), and monitor mounts (ID 4487)
Precision Engineering: Provides full access to all camera buttons and ports, ensuring unobstructed EVF tilt
Detachable NATO Rail (Top Plate): Compatible with Sony’s XLR top handle or SmallRig’s rotating top handle (ID 4152) for seamless EVF operation
Secure Dual-Lock Protection: Two-point locking mechanism securely fixes the camera
Integrated Arca-Swiss Quick Release Plate: Effortlessly switch between handheld, tripod, and gimbal setups (compatible with DJI RS 2 / RSC 2 / RS 3 / RS 3 Pro / RS 4 / RS 4 Pro)
Cage for Sony FX2 (Model 5587) - Includes HDMI Cable Clamp: Ensures a stable cable connection for reliable data transmission. Cage Kit for Sony FX2 (Model 5588) - XLR Handle Extension Rig: Improves ergonomics with an expanded grip area and integrates 1/4"-20 threaded holes for mounting monitors or accessories.
